The Lata Pitch: Where Founders Walk In With a Business and Out With a Backer

The Lata Pitch: Where Founders Walk In With a Business and Out With a Backer

Most business events end the same way. You leave with a notebook full of quotes, a tote bag, and a vague sense that you should be doing more. A few weeks later, nothing has changed. I have sat in those rooms for fifteen years, and when we built The Virtual Scale Summit, I wanted the opposite of that feeling. I wanted a stage where a founder could walk in with a company and walk out with a backer.

That stage is The Lata Pitch, and it is the reason this summit exists.

What The Lata Pitch actually is

The Lata Pitch is not a demo day for applause, and it is not a panel of spectators reacting to slides. A select group of founders will apply, be chosen, and present their company live to the executive team of TruLata Holdings, our portfolio arm that builds, backs, and operates companies across consumer, fintech, and wellness. These are operators who put real capital and real work behind companies for a living. When they give you feedback, it is the same feedback they use on their own investments.

Founders who take the stage walk away with three things:

  • Direct, candid feedback from people who build and back companies, not generic notes from someone who has never carried the risk.
  • A concrete growth roadmap for their specific business, so the next ninety days have a plan instead of a hope.
  • Genuine consideration for partnership or backing from TruLata Holdings, and a relationship that can keep going long after the summit ends.

When we announced the event this month, we said it plainly in our press release: this is a free, two-day event where founders can walk in with a business and out with a backer. I am not going to soften that. It is exactly what we intend.

Who should apply

The Lata Pitch is built for founders of real, revenue-generating companies. You do not need to be venture-scale, and you do not need a polished deck with a hockey-stick chart. You need a business that is actually operating, a clear sense of where you are trying to go, and the willingness to hear an honest read on how to get there faster. If that is you, apply the same day you register, because only a focused set of companies will be selected and applications close July 31.

To be clear about one common question: you do not have to pitch to attend. The summit is worth two mornings on its own. But if you have been waiting for a serious room to look at your company, this is that room.

Why this lineup earns your two mornings

The pitch sits inside a working event, not a highlight reel. Both mornings are taught by operators who have actually done the thing, and the sessions are case studies, not theory. The lineup includes:

  • Kellie DeMarco, a three-time Emmy Award winner and two-time Edward R. Murrow Award winner, on high-stakes communication that moves buyers and boards.
  • Dr. Gregory Stowe on the case-study stage, with an unvarnished look at what scaling a multi-location practice actually took.
  • Trace Gordon, our CEO and Founder and a Forbes Business Council member, on building a company that builds companies.
  • Abhishek Kishore, a global growth strategist who has advised Fortune 500 executives through the U.S.-India Business Council.
  • And I will be there as well, on scaling businesses inside highly regulated industries where the margin for error is thin.

Both mornings also feature a live executive panel answering audience-submitted questions in real time, plus facilitated networking with other founders and operators. No awkward lobby small talk, just real conversations with people solving the same problems you are.

The details that matter

The Virtual Scale Summit runs August 13 and 14, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM CST, and it is free to attend. Every registrant receives the full recordings of all sessions, so a missed morning is never a missed opportunity. TruLata has served more than 200 organizations across healthcare, legal, enterprise software, and community sectors, and we built this event the way we build for clients: two tight mornings, operators instead of presenters, and a stage where the outcome is real.

Seats and pitch slots are both limited. If you want the stage, do not wait until the deadline is staring at you.
