Your leads live in a spreadsheet. Put them on the same screen as your marketing.

Connect Excel and TruLata reads the lead list you keep in a workbook on OneDrive onto your Leads tab, including the workbook a Microsoft Form fills with its responses. You approve TruLata inside Microsoft, with nothing to paste, and the connection only reads.

Which workbook does TruLata read?

Your most recently edited workbook that is named like a lead list: leads, inquiries, contacts, prospects, quotes, estimates, requests, bookings, form, responses or sign ups. It reads the first sheet whose top row has a Date column and an Email or Phone column. The Excel card on your Integrations tab names the workbook it read, so you always know which file it is.

Columns are read by their titles, so they can sit in any order. Name, first and last name, email, phone, service, city or zip, message and source are each picked up when a column title says so.

Does it read Microsoft Forms responses?

Yes, from the Excel workbook the form saves its responses to. The form's completion time is read as the date. On a public form, Microsoft fills its own Email and Name columns with anonymous, so TruLata reads your form's own name and email questions instead when they hold the person's details.

Each response becomes a row on the Leads tab with its time, name, email, phone and message. When the sheet has a source column, the row's source reads Excel and that source; otherwise it reads Excel lead sheet.

What lands on the Leads tab?

Each row from the same window your Leads tab shows, newest first, beside the leads from your website forms and any other source you connect. A row with no name, email or phone is skipped, and our team's own test entries are filtered out before the list reaches you.

Your sheet's leads and your website's leads sit in one list, so the question of which source brought in the people who reached you has one answer. See the Leads view.

How do I connect Excel?

Press Connect on the Excel lead sheet card on your Integrations tab. Microsoft opens, you sign in with the account whose OneDrive holds the workbook and approve read access to your files, and TruLata finds the workbook and reads its columns. If no workbook fits, nothing is connected; name the sheet like a lead list, give it a Date column and an Email or Phone column, and press Connect again.

Microsoft 365 work accounts and personal Microsoft accounts both work, and the permission needs no admin consent in Microsoft. TruLata never sees your Microsoft password; the token Microsoft issues is stored encrypted on our side and never sent to a browser.

Can I connect Excel today?

Microsoft connections are switched on one workspace at a time today. Ask for Excel from the request card on your Integrations tab, or email support@trulata.com, and we switch it on for your account. On a work account your Microsoft 365 admin may need to approve TruLata once, and we do that with you.

How fresh is it, and can TruLata change my sheet?

Within about 15 minutes. The Leads tab reads your sheet when it is asked for its leads and serves the last read for up to 15 minutes while a fresh one runs behind it. If the workbook cannot be read, Excel is recorded as a source it could not reach rather than zero leads.

The connection is read only. TruLata never writes to the workbook, and you keep editing it in Excel as you do today. Disconnect from the card on your Integrations tab whenever you choose, or remove TruLata from My Apps at myapplications.microsoft.com.
