See how every Mailchimp send landed, beside the leads it was meant to bring.

Connect Mailchimp with one button or one API key, and the Email tab shows every campaign you sent in the last 90 days: who it reached, who opened, who clicked and who left. The connection only reads. Your campaigns are written, scheduled and sent in Mailchimp, as they are today.

What will I see from Mailchimp?

Every regular campaign sent in the last 90 days, newest first. Each row carries the campaign's name, its subject line, when it went out, how many emails were sent, unique opens, unique clicks and unsubscribes, with the open rate and click rate worked out from those counts. Automation emails and the test splits of an A/B campaign are left out, so the list is the campaigns you actually sent to your audience. A campaign that reached no one is left out too.

Above the list sits your audience: the subscribers across your Mailchimp audiences, and how many audiences that covers. The 90-day totals add up the sends and weigh the open and click rates by how many people each campaign reached, so one tiny send cannot swing the figure.

Which number should I trust most?

Clicks. Opens include the automatic opens Apple Mail records when it loads a message for the reader, so an open rate can run high without anyone reading. The Email tab says so under the figures. A click is a person who chose to follow a link, and that is the firmer signal of a campaign that worked.

Then put it beside the rest of the screen. The Leads view counts what arrived from your own forms; the email numbers show what you sent and who acted on it. When a campaign goes out on Tuesday and form leads rise on Wednesday, you see both on one dashboard instead of in two tabs. See the Email view.

How do I connect Mailchimp?

Press Connect Mailchimp on the Integrations tab. It opens Mailchimp, you approve TruLata, and you come back connected, with nothing to copy. Prefer a key? Open Or paste a key on the same card: in Mailchimp, go to Profile, Extras, API keys, create one, and paste it. A Mailchimp key ends in its data center, like -us21, and TruLata checks for that.

Either way the connection is checked before it is saved. TruLata reads your audiences and their subscriber count with it first, and a key that does not work is never stored; the card tells you why in a plain sentence. The account owner or an admin of your TruLata account connects it. On an account our team runs for you, we connect it with you during setup.

Can TruLata send or change anything in my Mailchimp account?

The connection is read only. Every call TruLata makes to Mailchimp reads: your audiences and your campaign reports. Nothing sends, schedules or edits a campaign, and your audience, tags and automations stay as you set them. Writing and sending happen in Mailchimp itself.

The key or the connection is stored encrypted and never sent back to a browser, yours included. Press Disconnect on the card and it is deleted; revoke the key or the app in Mailchimp and the read stops. Your list stays where it lives. See what we read and where it lives.

How fresh are the email numbers?

Read from Mailchimp when you open the Email tab, then held for up to 15 minutes so a second look does not ask Mailchimp again. A campaign's opens and clicks keep climbing for days after it goes out, and the next read after that window picks them up.

If Mailchimp does not answer, the Email tab says it could not read that account and shows no numbers for it. It never shows zero campaigns for an account it could not reach. Your morning briefing and Ask TruLata read the same figures, so a question about last month's sends gets the same answer as the tab. See the clock on every source.
