Approve the article, and it is a live item in your Webflow blog.
Connect your blog collection on the Integrations tab with a site API token you generate, and every article you approve on the Content tab publishes into it with its body, its featured image and its summary. Your design, your pages and your other collections stay as they are.

What do I need to connect my Webflow site?
Two things from your own Webflow account: a site API token and the id of your blog collection. In Webflow, open Site settings, Apps and integrations, API access, and generate a token with CMS read and write. Then open CMS, your blog collection's settings, and copy its Collection ID. Paste both on the Integrations tab and press Connect. The account owner or an admin connects it.
The token is checked before it is saved. TruLata reads the collection with it, finds a rich text field to put an article in and reads the token's scopes: a token Webflow refuses, a collection with no rich text field, or a token that can read the CMS but not write to it is named on the card and never stored. A token that passes is stored encrypted and never sent back to a browser, and Disconnect on the same card removes it.
- Generate a site API tokenWebflow: Site settings, Apps and integrations, API access, with CMS read and write
- Copy the Collection IDCMS, your blog collection's settings
- Checked firstThe collection's fields and the token's scopes are read before saving
- Stored encryptedNever sent back to a browser; Disconnect removes it
How does an article fit my collection's fields?
TruLata reads your collection's own fields and fills the ones that match. The body goes into the rich text field, preferring one named like post body, body, content or article. The featured image goes into the image field, preferring one named like main image, featured, thumbnail or cover, with the title as its alt text. The summary goes into a plain text field named like summary, excerpt, description or intro. The title is the item's name, and the slug is built from the title plus the piece's own number.
The item is created live, not as a draft, because your approval on the Content tab is the review. The Content tab then shows the piece as published with a link to it on your site. A collection without an image or summary field still takes the article; only the rich text field is required.

- SlugThe title plus the piece's own number
- Rich textThe body
- ImageThe featured image, title as alt text
- Plain textThe summary
Where do the articles come from?
From the content engine on your Content tab. On the 1st of each month at 7am Eastern the month's pieces are queued, two by default, and Write one more now queues another. Each topic starts as a phrase people search, between roughly 100 and 20,000 searches a month. The piece is researched from up to twelve current sources, written, every external link is opened, a photograph is added, and it is filed as a Google Doc in a Drive folder for your business before it reaches your site.
Then it waits for you: read it, edit it, approve it or dismiss it on the Content tab. With auto-publish on in Settings, a finished draft approves itself when it passes its checks, and a piece whose links failed the check still waits for a person.
From a searched phrase to your blog
- QueuedTwo by default; Write one more now adds another

- Up to twelve current sourcesEvery external link opened

- PublishedBy you, or by auto-publish in Settings
What happens if I approve twice, or Webflow says no?
Approving twice never makes two items. Before writing, TruLata looks for a live item with the same slug in the collection and returns it if it is there. If Webflow does not answer or refuses the item, the piece stays approved on the Content tab with Webflow's reason, so the work is kept and one more approval retries it. The item goes into the live collection, so publish the site once in Webflow before the first article.
The connection writes one kind of thing: an item in the blog collection you named. Your design, your static pages, your other collections and your site settings are outside it. A website, content, keyword or targeting request from the screen goes to your team as a logged ticket, and the Security page lists every write path.

Left to you

Approving twice never makes two items.
What if I also run WordPress or Shopify?
One destination publishes each article, in a fixed order. A site you built with the TruLata website builder comes first. Without one, an approved article goes to WordPress when it is connected, then Webflow, then Shopify. A business whose Webflow site is its main site gets every article there.
With nothing connected, an approved piece stays approved with its text ready to copy, from the Content tab or from its Google Doc, and connecting a site on the Integrations tab lets it publish itself from then on. See the WordPress connection and the Shopify connection.

What the Webflow connection does.
| What | Where it comes from | How fresh |
|---|---|---|
| Connect | A site API token with CMS read and write, plus your blog's Collection ID | Checked before it is saved |
| Body | Your collection's rich text field | Published when you approve |
| Featured image | Your collection's image field, title as alt text | Where the collection has one |
| Summary | A plain text field such as summary or excerpt | Where the collection has one |
| Duplicates | Slug from the title plus the piece's number, checked first | A second approval returns the same item |
| Design, pages, other collections | Outside this connection | Not written |
| Token | Stored encrypted, never sent to a browser | Removed by Disconnect |
The Webflow connection reads your blog collection's own fields and publishes each approved article into them as a live item, and leaves your design and pages to you.
Questions, answered.
What do I paste to connect Webflow?
A site API token with CMS read and write, from Site settings, Apps and integrations, API access, and your blog collection's Collection ID, from that collection's settings in the CMS. TruLata checks both before saving them.
Does it publish as a draft or live?
Live, once you approve it on the Content tab. The item is created in the live collection, so publish your site once in Webflow before the first article.
Which fields does it fill?
The item's name and slug, the rich text field with the body, the image field with the featured image, and a plain text field with the summary, chosen by reading your collection's own fields.
Can it change my design or my pages?
The connection writes items into the blog collection you named. Your design, your static pages, your other collections and your site settings stay outside it.
Can I approve every article myself?
Yes. Each finished piece waits on the Content tab for you to read, edit, approve or dismiss. Auto-publish in Settings is an option you turn on, and a piece whose links failed the check still waits for a person.
Which tier includes the Webflow connection?
The connection publishes what the content engine writes, so it works where the content engine runs on your account. The pricing page lists what each tier includes.
