Check whether Google's AI Overviews cite your website

#What it checks

The Google AI Overviews card, marked Checked weekly, sits on both the SEO tab and the AEO / GEO tab. Every week TruLata runs each search you track on Google, as a United States English search, and records two things: whether Google answered with an AI Overview, and whether that Overview cites your website.

The searches are the ones in Searches you want to win in Settings, then your top Search Console searches, up to ten in all.

#Reading the card

The headline reads, for example, AI Overviews: shown for 6 of 10 searches, you are cited in 2. Under it, the card says when Google was checked and for which website.

The table lists each Search, whether an AI Overview was Shown or Not shown, and whether Your site was Cited or Not cited. Click a row to see the sites the Overview cites and what it said.

#When a search could not be read

A search whose results page could not be read shows Could not read and is left out of the count, never counted as no Overview. The card says how many were left out. If a whole week's check could not run, the card says so and keeps the previous reading.

#Not measured yet?

Press Add searches in Settings and fill in Searches you want to win. The first reading lands within the hour after your searches are known. Change the searches later and they are checked again within the hour.
