Add a call tracking number for a campaign
Get a TruLata phone number for each campaign so every call, answered or missed, lands on the Leads tab with the campaign's name.
#What a tracking number does
Give each campaign its own phone number: your Google Ads, your truck, a mailer. The number rings your phone like any call and shows the caller's own number, so you can call them back.
Every call to it, answered or missed, arrives on the Leads tab with the campaign's name. A missed call is a lead too: a customer who rang and got nobody. TruLata provides the numbers.
#Add a number
- Open Integrations and open Call tracking numbers.
- In Campaign, like Google Ads, name what the number is for.
- In Phone it rings, enter the phone that should ring.
- If you want a particular area code, type it in Area code (optional).
- Press Add a number.
#After you add it
The row reads Getting your number, about a minute. Then the number appears with the phone it rings. From then on the row counts calls in the last 30 days and how many were answered.
Put the number where that campaign runs: in the ad, on the truck, on the mailer. On the Leads tab, each call shows the caller's number and the campaign's name.
#How many numbers you can have
When you reach the limit, the card says An account can hold that many tracking numbers. Remove one to add another.
#Questions
Will callers see a strange number when I call back?
The tracking number shows the caller's own number when it rings you, so your call back goes to them from your own phone.
Does a missed call count?
Yes. Every call, answered or missed, arrives on the Leads tab.
Can I use the number on my website?
Yes. Name the campaign something like Website and its calls arrive with that name.
What if setting up the number fails?
The row says why in place of the number. Remove it and add it again, or write to support@trulata.com.
