Connect your Google Ads account

Link Google Ads to TruLata with your customer id, or by signing in with Google, so the Google Ads tab shows your campaigns.

#Before you start

Until Google Ads is connected, the Google Ads tab says Connect Google to see Google Ads, with an Open Integrations button. It takes about two minutes, and your numbers appear within the hour. You never give TruLata your Google password.

There are two ways. Use whichever fits.

#Way 1: give TruLata access with your customer id

  1. Open Integrations and open the Google card. Find Give TruLata access to Google.
  2. In the Google Ads box, type your customer id, a number like 123-456-7890 shown at the top of Google Ads, and press Add.
  3. You see Added. Look for TruLata's request in Google Ads within 15 minutes. The box reads Request sent, accept it in Google Ads.
  4. In Google Ads, open Admin, Access and security, Managers, and accept TruLata's request.
  5. TruLata checks every 15 minutes. The box changes to Connected once you accept.
TipThis is the standard way to give an outside manager access to Google Ads. You can remove it any time in Google Ads, in the same Managers screen.

#Way 2: sign in with Google

If TruLata could tell which account is yours, the card says We picked these for you. Change it if it is wrong and press Save.

  1. On the same Google card, under Or sign in with Google, press Connect your Google accounts.
  2. Pick the Google account that can see your Google Ads and approve access.
  3. Under Choose your accounts, pick your account in Google Ads account and press Save.

#If it does not connect

Waiting for access or Request sent means the request has not been accepted yet. Needs attention comes with a note saying what Google answered. If our team connected Google for you, the card says Your TruLata team connected Google for you and there is nothing to set up.

#Questions

Where do I find my customer id?

At the top of Google Ads, next to your account name. It is a ten digit number like 123-456-7890.

I accepted the request but the tab is still empty.

TruLata checks every 15 minutes, and numbers follow within the hour. Google Ads itself publishes numbers a few hours after the fact.

Can I connect more than one Google Ads account?

Add each customer id in the Google Ads box. Each shows its own status.

How do I disconnect?

In Google Ads, open Admin, Access and security, Managers, and remove TruLata.
