Connect Google Search Console
Give TruLata Restricted access in Search Console, or sign in with Google, so the SEO tab shows the searches your site appears for.
#Before you start
Until Search Console is connected, the SEO tab says Connect Google to see SEO, with an Open Integrations button. Your site must already be verified in Search Console. You never give TruLata your Google password.
#Way 1: add TruLata as a user
You see Added. It connects once the access is there. TruLata checks every 15 minutes, and the box reads Connected once it can read the site.
- In Search Console, open Settings, Users and permissions, and press Add user.
- Add
addy@trulata.comwith Restricted permission. - In TruLata, open Integrations, the Google card, and find the Search Console box under Give TruLata access to Google.
- Type your site exactly as Search Console shows it and press Add.
#Way 2: sign in with Google
- On the same Google card, under Or sign in with Google, press Connect your Google accounts.
- Pick the Google account that owns your Search Console site and approve access.
- Under Choose your accounts, pick your site in Search Console site and press Save.
#After it connects
Your numbers follow within the hour. Search Console itself runs 2 to 3 days behind, because Google releases its data that late, so the newest day on the SEO tab is a few days ago.
#Questions
What do I type for my site?
The property as Search Console lists it: a domain property such as sc-domain:example.com, or a web address such as https://www.example.com/.
Why Restricted and not Full?
Restricted lets TruLata read your search data. It cannot change your Search Console settings.
How do I remove the access?
In Search Console, Settings, Users and permissions, remove addy@trulata.com.
