Make, copy or revoke an API key
Make a key on the Integrations tab for Zapier, Make, n8n, Pipedream or your own code. It is shown once and opens only your account.
#Make a key
- Open Integrations and press the card Zapier, Make, n8n and the TruLata API. Its status says Set up, or how many keys you have.
- Type what the key is for in the box, like Zapier. Left empty, it is labeled Zapier.
- Press Make a key.
- Under Your new key, press Copy. Copy it now: it is shown once.
#Use the key
Paste it into your tool. Requests carry it as Authorization: Bearer tl_live_..., or as an X-API-Key header if your tool prefers that.
The API address sits at the foot of the same card, with a link to the API reference. A key opens your account and nothing else.
#See your keys
The card lists each key by its label and first characters, when it was made, when it was last used, and how many live triggers it has. When triggers are live, a line says what is being sent to your tools, such as new leads.
#Revoke a key
- Press Revoke beside the key.
- Confirm. Anything using that key stops working, and its triggers are switched off.
- The message says Revoked. Make a new key for the tool that used it, if you still need one.
#Who can make keys, and how many
The account owner or an admin, up to 10 keys per account. At 10, revoke one to make another. Anyone else sees The account owner or an admin can make keys.
#Questions

What if a key leaks?
Press Revoke beside it. Its next request is refused. Then make a new key for the tool that used it.
Does a key open other accounts?
No. A key opens the account that made it and nothing else.
