Go live on your own web address
Take a plan, connect your domain with one record, and your site goes live on your own address with a secure certificate.
#Start going live
Press Go live in the top bar, or open Settings and find Go live. Building and publishing to your preview stay free; going live on your own address needs a plan. See the website builder page for what it costs.
#1. Pay for your plan
If your business already has TruLata, you see Add it to my bill instead: your website goes on the same bill as an add-on, paid with the same card. Cancel it any time.
If you leave the checkout before paying, the builder says Payment not finished. Your site is saved; pick it up any time.
- Pick monthly or yearly billing.
- Type the email address for your receipts.
- Press Continue to payment and pay on our secure checkout. You come back to the builder when it is done.
#2. Connect your domain
Until the record is seen, the builder says Not pointed yet. A new record can take from a few minutes to a few hours to be seen. We keep checking. Press Check again to look now.
- Type the web address your customers use, for example yourbusiness.com, and press Save.
- The builder shows a record: its type, its name and what it points to.
- Where your address is managed (the company you bought it from), add that record.
#3. You are live
As soon as your address points at your site, it goes live by itself and we email you. You can close the builder meanwhile. Or press Go live yourself once it says the address is pointed.
The secure certificate follows within a few minutes. Your live site is open to search engines, and a few minutes after it goes live we tell Google and Bing about your site and its list of pages, so new pages are found sooner.
If you built from an existing site, the rest of its pages come in once you have a plan.
#Questions
Do I need to buy a domain first?
Yes. Use an address you own, from the company you bought it from. Then add the record the builder shows you there.
How long does it take?
Usually minutes once the record is added. Some companies take a few hours to show a new record. We keep checking and email you when it is live.
Can someone I invited take the site live?
Only people who can publish. Someone with Can edit, not publish cannot go live or buy.
What happens to my preview address?
It keeps working. After you publish, the card offers View your preview beside your live site.
