Mark a lead as contacted, quoted, won or lost
Record what happened to each lead from its row on the Leads tab, add a reason when one is lost, and see which leads are still waiting.
#Set a lead's status
Where outcomes are switched on for your account, each row on the Leads tab has a Status dropdown.
- Open Leads and find the lead.
- Open the dropdown on its row. It starts at New lead.
- Choose Contacted, Quoted, Won or Lost.
- The row shows Saving..., then a green check and Saved.
#Say why a lead was lost
Choose Lost and the row asks Why? Type a reason in your own words, such as went elsewhere, price or timing, and press Save. The reason is optional: press Save with the box empty, or Cancel to leave the status as it was. Later, add reason or edit under the status changes it.
#Change or clear a status
Pick another option at any time. Choose New lead to clear it. A status stays on the lead until your team changes it.
#Leads still waiting
A lead with no status two days after it arrived wears a badge reading no contact marked yet with its age in days. The count line above the list says how many are not yet marked contacted.
#If a status does not save
The row puts back what it had and says Not saved, try again beside it. If it says Not saved, reload the page, reload and set it again.
#Questions
Who sees the status I set?
Everyone on your account who opens the Leads tab. It is saved to the lead's record, not to your browser.
Where are Spam and Not a lead?
In the same dropdown. See Mark spam and leads that are not real leads.
Can I get outcomes out of TruLata?
Yes. Where it is switched on, Export leads to Google Sheets includes the outcome marked on each lead. Tools connected with an API key can also catch lead status changes.
I do not see a Status column.
Outcomes are switched on per account. Write to support@trulata.com to ask for them.
