Follow up with every new lead automatically
Turn on three short follow-up emails to every new lead who left an email address: right away, the next day and on day 3. A reply, a mark on the Leads tab or STOP ends them.
#What it does
When it is on, every new lead who leaves an email address gets three short emails from your business: one right away, one the next day and one on day 3. Each is written for that lead, from what they asked and what your website and Settings say about your business. They are signed as the team at your business and go out with your business's name as the sender.
They are written not to promise a price, an opening, a discount or a guarantee your business has not given. Each one ends with a line telling the person they can reply STOP.
#Turn it on
Only the account owner or an admin can turn it on or off. It covers leads that arrive after you turn it on, not the ones already on your list.
- Open Settings and find the card Follow up with every new lead.
- Press Turn on. You see On. Every new lead gets a follow-up within 10 minutes.
#What ends the emails
- The lead replies. Their reply is emailed to the account owner, and no more follow-ups go to them.
- Anyone on your team marks the lead on the Leads tab, for example as contacted, won or not a lead.
- The lead replies STOP.
#See who is being followed up
The card lists your newest leads in the follow-up, with how many of the three emails have gone out and where each one stands: Following up, Replied, Stopped with the reason, or All 3 sent.
#Turn it off
Press Turn off on the card. You see Off. No more follow-ups go out. Every follow-up still in progress stops at once.
#Questions
Does a lead with only a phone number get the emails?
No. The follow-up goes only to leads who left an email address.
Where do replies go?
Each reply is emailed to the account owner, with the person's address so you can write back. The follow-up to that person stops.
Will a lead get the emails after we have already called them?
Not once you mark them on the Leads tab. Any mark, such as contacted, ends the follow-up.
Is this the same as the new-lead email I get?
No. That email tells you about a new lead. This one writes to the lead. See Get an email for every new lead.
